Salterns 24 Hour Sailathon

Every year in November Salterns Sailing Club raises funds for the BBC Children In Need Appeal.

The children of Salterns raise money through sponsorship of a 24 Hour Sailathon: during a 24 hour period there are at least two boats out sailing continuously on the pond. Over the last 25 years Salterns has raised over £193,000 for Children in Need - a fantastic effort for a small, children's sailing club!

As well as sponsorship, there are many other fun activities at the club, plus a Silent Auction and Tombola. This year there will also be food and drinks on sale throughout the Saturday, for members and friends, it's definitely worth coming along!

All Members, Affiliate Members, Old Salts and friends of Salterns are very welcome to come and help make this a great event. Only current JC members (under 17) have the privilege of staying to sail all night!

BBC Children In Need 24 hour Sailathon for 2024 will start at 4.30 pm on 15th November 2024 and finish at 4.30 pm on Saturday 16th November 2024 at Salterns Sailing Club, Lymington.

The RNLI Race is at 13:00 on Saturday - followed by Mum's race and Dad's race and a family race.
