Silent Auction for Children in Need

Silent Auction rules

  • Bidding increments up to £100 – £5 increment
  • Bidding increments over £100 – £10 increment
  • Tiff will be monitoring the Silent Auction and will be closing the auction at 4.00pm on Saturday 16th November 2018 and her decision on all bids will be final.
  • Telephone/Absent bidding is welcome via your own appointed nominee. Contact Tiff on 07917 623755.
  • All new bids must be higher than the previous bid by at least the minimum raise indicated above, in order to be valid.
  • A bid is construed as a legal agreement to purchase the listed item(s) at the amount indicated. All bidders must be 18 years of age or above.
  • All winning bids must be settled within ONE week or the item will go to the next highest bidder.
  • In order to protect the integrity of all bidders, please do not scratch out bids. Bids may only be voided by Tiff due to valid bidding error. Please seek assistance if you find an invalid bid or make a mistake during bidding.
  • The auction will close at 4.00pm on Saturday 16th November 2019, at which time the highest bid on each bid sheet will be declared the winner. If conflict arises over identifying the last valid bid for an item, Tiff has the sole discretion to determine the winner.

The Silent Auction Lots

Lot 1: Michael Turner ‘Angler Fish’ sculpture on a wooden block

One of Mike’s quirky little Angler Fish sculptures, resting on hard wood. Mike is best known for his stainless steel wildlife sculptures and the New Forest Poppy Hunt. Mike’s sculptures are hand made from start to finish using recycled or reclaimed material where possible. He sells his creations worldwide so this is your chance to “snap” up one of his original sculptures whilst donating to Children in Need. Height approx. 36cm and width approx. 30cm including the wooden plinth.

Lot 2: Ben Ainslie’s INEOS Team UK sailing helmet and Land Rover BAR wetsuit

Sir Ben Ainslie’s personally signed race helmet and his Long John wetsuit. The INEOS Team UK helmet was worn by him during last season’s GC32 Foiling Catamaran events, whilst the Long John wetsuit was worn by him during his America’s Cup Campaign skippering Team Land Rover BAR in Bermuda.
Ainslie is one of the most successful sailors in Olympic history, winning medals at 5 consecutive Olympics from 1996 onwards. An incredible piece of memorabilia or something to be worn with pride whilst helping Children in Need.

Lot 3: Spa Day for 2 people at SENSPA

He is currently the tactician for the INEOS team too.
