British Moth sailing at Salterns
The British Moth is an 11 foot dinghy with superb light wind performance. Originally designed in 1932, it is the first British designed and built single-handed dinghy that has now celebrated over 85 years of putting smiles on its helms faces.
The modern British Moth can come in a number of guises, including the self-draining Cockpit options by John Claridge. The Salterns Sailing Club fleet includes 7 British Moths. Children have been sailing and racing in British Moths at Salterns Sailing Club since it was established in 1960.

Salterns Green Pennant is completed in British Moths over two years - the first year as crew and the second year as helm.
In addition the Moth Racing Series takes place throughout the season, providing lots of fun and friendly competition around the pond.
